Meet the Brain in Hand team

Louise Morpeth, Chief Executive Officer and Board Member

Louise has over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the independent sector developing and testing innovations to improve user outcomes. She joined Brain in Hand in 2018 as Head of R&D and became Chief Exec in 2019.

Until 2017, she was CEO of the Dartington Social Research Unit, a national research charity that brought evidence to bear on policy and practice. Louise was awarded a PhD by Exeter University in 2003 and is a fellow of the NHS Innovation Accelerator.

Steve Page, Non-Executive Chairman

Steve has had a successful career in public and private sectors first as CEO of Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust, a large mental health and community services trust in South London, and then as a CEO in the education, health and social care sector. He is now an independent Chair or non-executive director to a number of companies providing innovative and quality services.

Emma Rooth, Non-Executive Director

Emma is Managing Director of Torbay Pharmaceuticals, and a non-executive director of the UK Biocentre. She was a non-executive director of Thera Trust for over four years; prior to that, she was at AAH Pharmaceuticals for eleven years, then at BUPA as Commercial Director for the Public Sector business.

Emma brings a wealth of knowledge and experience of working across the Life Sciences and Health Care sectors in the UK and internationally. She has four years’ experience as a consultant in Healthcare and Medtech sectors, working for PE-backed businesses.

Michelle Caine, Head of Customer Support

Michelle has over 18 years’ experience in management and senior leadership roles, previously working as a director of care for a Southwest charity before joining Brain in Hand in 2021.

She loves to lead by example, empowers her teams to flourish, drives improvement and efficiencies by continual review whilst ensuring quality remains.

She is passionate about involving Users in service development and ensuring all Customers receive the best service.

Andrea Farnsworth, Head of Workplace

Andrea has over 20 years of strategic relationship management and partnership development.  She brings extensive experience from the private sector and public sectors, supporting organisations with digital strategy and transformation. She joined Brain in Hand in 2022 as Senior Account Manager and became Market Development manager for our Workplace sector in 2023.

Experienced in complex stakeholder engagement, scaling businesses, customer experience and the building of mutually advantageous strategic partnerships.  Andrea is passionate about working with innovative organisations with a clear social purpose which makes Brain in Hand the perfect fit.

Emma Morgan, Head of Client Growth & Success

Emma has extensive experience across the health and social sector, as well as managing UK-wide advocacy services. Her work in the public, private, and voluntary sectors has equipped her with the knowledge to build strong strategic partnerships and deeply understand our clients' needs. Emma's past experience has made her current role as Head of Client Growth and Success at Brain in Hand a perfect fit.

She is also highly experienced in managing large, complex teams, ensuring exceptional service delivery while supporting business development and growth. Passionate about access to support, she worked hands-on in this sector and understand the critical importance of personalised care in promoting greater independence
